SPARTA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 22
The Lady Vikings struggled in first half against a strong Sparta basketball team, but stuck together as a team to gut out a one point come from behind victory. The Vikings scored 10 of their 23 points in the fourth quarter and held Sparta to one fourth quarter point. Overall the Vikings were down 18-6 at half time then held Sparta to 4 second half points with outstanding defense from Nevaeh Helderop, Helena Kerber, Kaye Cleypool, Dahlia Veldhouse, Flannery Johnston and Megan Williams. While it wasn't the prettiest game, the team stayed together and showed the toughness needed to beat a very good Spata team. Scoring for the Vikings: Cleypool 8, Johnston 7, Helderop 5, Kerber 2 and Krippin 1.
