Cayla Szubinski, a senior at Hopkins High School, has signed with Davenport University to join their girls golf team during the 2024-2025 school year with Coach Loughin! Davenport is a member of the NCAA and is a part of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Other members of the GLIAC include Grand Valley State University, Ferris State University and Wayne State University. At Davenport, Cayla plans to study forensic accounting.

Cayla is a member of the National Honor Society and the PALS program at Hopkins High School, while also excelling in the classroom with a 3.9 GPA. She was an inaugural member of the girls golf team at Hopkins High School during the 2021-2022 season and has steadily improved through each season to earn all conference honors this fall. This past week, Cayla was recognized by 96.1 The Game as their Meijer Prep Athlete of the Week.
